Five Things You Didn’t Know About Carol Zelaya

1. I love to write in the middle of the night when everything is peaceful and quiet and there are no distractions.

2. There are times when I actually think that I like animals better than people.

3. I am the mother of two grown children, a daughter 33 and a son 29, and no grandchildren yet.

4. I am relocating to the San Diego area in October.

5. I have four little Chihuahuas who are my babies.

I was born in Chicago, became a registered nurse, and met my husband at a local hospital. We raised our two children in Valparaiso Indiana, and moved to Oregon in 1996. It was there that I realized my love of nature and its animals, as deer and birds were daily visitors.

I also realized that I was inspired by nature and its creatures on my daily walks. It came as no surprise that the first book I wrote came from being inspired by a tiny chickadee that made her nest in my flowers.
